Available Magic Items Kaer Maga

Magic items are valuable, and Kaer Maga has several purveyors of magic items, from simple potion merchants to weapon smiths that specialize in magic arms and armor. Of course, not every item is available all the time.

The Drunken Tailor (Downmarket)

Though the official name of this “shop” is Humboldt’s Haberdashery, no one other than its proprietor refers to it as such. Efram Humboldt, an effeminate man with a neat beard and an ample belly, claims to have once been the official couturier for the harem of a Qadiran satrap. The tailor can usually be found somewhere in this district, drunk as a lord and sleeping it off in the wheelbarrow full of fabric that he calls his establishment.

The current inventory includes the following:

  • Sandals of the lightest step (5,000 gp)

Gadka’s Magical Oddities (Tarheel Promenade)

Far from the most reputable shopkeeper in town, the dwarf Gadka Burtannon still manages to do a brisk trade in interesting magic items. His garish tarp-covered cart at the corner of Fever Street and Half-a- Chicken Walk is a landmark despite its theoretically mobile nature.

The current inventory includes the following:

  • There is a 75% chance Gadka will have an item worth less than 7,600 gp, except weapons and armor
  • Verdant vine (6,000 gp)
  • Mongoose pelt fetish of neutralize poison (CL 5, 11,250 gp)
  • Obsidian charm of cure critical wounds (CL 7, 21,000 gp).
  • +1 Ominous spear (bears a shruken Shoanti head, 8,302 gp)
  • +2 Atlatl (crude yet masterful derro construction, 8,302 gp)
  • Rod of the wayang (12,000 gp)

The Wheel Unbroken (Tarheel Promenade)

This three story building is an oddity because it stands separate and isolated from the surrounding tenements and shop fronts. The ground floor features an immaculate shop and showroom, but its upper stories serve as the guild house of the magical consortium known as the Arcanists’ Circle,

The current inventory includes the following:

  • There is a 75% chance the Wheel will have an item worth less than 7,600 gp, except weapons and armor, or 1st level scrolls or potions
  • Type I ring of wizardry (maker’ mark indicates function, 20,000 gp)
  • Staff of divination (82,000 gp)
  • Pale lavender ellipsoid ioun stone (casters feel a drain from the stone, 20,000 gp)
  • “Wand” of greater bouncing metamagic (24,500 gp)
  • Suzerain scepter (topped with the azlanti rune for leadership, 20,000 gp)
  • Pearl of power (6th) (36,000 gp)

The Flame that Binds (Tarheel Promenade)

The owner of this garishly painted shop, Carthagos ), may not be as powerful as the members of the Arcanists’ Circle, but he’s a good deal more approachable. Though not a warrior himself, the mostly bald and impressively corpulent bloatmage has had a lifelong fascination with magical weapons; he specializes in their construction and is always eager to talk shop with the warriors who use them, glad to extend a “fellow adventurer’s discount” to anyone who lets him inspect a construction he’s unfamiliar with. In addition to his selection of magical weapons, Carthagos pays for his own studies by selling reagents and spell components to other magic users, and as a result “The Flame” is a rather popular hangout for some of the city’s up-and-coming hedge wizards.

The current inventory includes the following:

  • There is a 75% chance the Flame will have weapons and armor worth less than 7,600 gp
  • +2 Sling (8,300 gp)
  • +2 Shortbow (bears Carthago’s sigil, 8,330 gp)
  • +1 Frost heavy crossbow (8,350 gp)
  • +1 Vicious light mace (8,305 gp)
  • +1 Demon bane greataxe (sheds red light, 8,320 gp)
  • +1 Distance composite shortbow (8,375 gp)
  • +2 Greataxe (8,320 gp)
  • Maelstrom shield (14,170 gp)

Quarrimac’s Curatives (Bis)

This small, cluttered shop is the home and business of Kylos Quarrimac, a former adventurer who gave up a life of wandering in order to become the city’s foremost apothecary and alchemist. The herbalist is widely known for his wild stories and sense of humor and can always be found either researching new tinctures or asleep at his workbench.

The current inventory includes the following:

  • There is a 80% chance Quarrimac will have a potion worth less than 7,600 gp
